I am that lady who always brings up classy and sophisticated conversations about our monthly flow at the dinner table.
To me, these conversations are as important as the question-
“Is your cup half empty or half full?” – your menstrual cup that is!
You see, when I came off the oral contraceptive pill I had acne and irregular periods for over 5 years. I was over-exercising, and I couldn’t look in the mirror without thinking bad things about myself.
At this time, I thought I was doing everything right…
It wasn’t until the doctor dangled the diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in my face, that I decided something had to change.
Instead of identifying with PCOS, I focused my energy on listening, feeding and mindfully moving my body in a way I intuitively knew was right for me all along.
With the addition of menstrual charting, I realised I was educating myself for the first time what MY BODY was actually doing.
AND WHATDOYOUKNOW my acne has cleared; my cycles are becoming more and more regular, and the best part?? When I look in the mirror, I only think BEAUTIFUL.
